Ready to Begin Your Path to Lightness?
Step into the principles that have transformed my riding and teaching, and deepen communication and understanding with your horse.
Helping riders create Deliberate Lightness, connection, and harmony

My name is Celie Weston, and I teach riders how to develop horses that are balanced, light, and truly self-carried — from the very beginning through advanced movements.
Through my experience teaching and training, I noticed that most riders have fragments of understanding: they know exercises, movements, or tips, but don’t always understand what the horse is communicating, or what to train next for long-term soundness and progress. That’s why I developed a clear, structured approach based on the Five Fundamentals of Lightness combined with classical principles.
This training system allows riders to:

1. Recognize and resolve all forms of resistance a horse can present, from the jaw and back through to advanced movement tension. |

2. Observe, feel, and respond to their horse in real time Through the Conscious Riding Loop. This cycle of awareness and adjustment ensures clarity in every step. |

3. Structure their training sessions systematically through the Classical Pyramid. Movements are introduced from loose rein → medium rein → collected rein, and through standstill → walk → trot → canter, ensuring every step builds on the correct qualities. |

4. Diagnose asymmetry in their horse through the use of academic aids and structured observation. With the support of EHS assessments and targeted training protocols, imbalances are addressed systematically, allowing correct balance and straightness to develop. |

5. Enhance laterals and more advanced movements (piaffe, passage, flying lead changes, etc.) using the Five Fundamentals as a stable foundation for the correct shape. |
My approach is designed to give riders clarity and confidence at every level. You learn not just isolated exercises, but the “full language” of training, so you can see what your horse needs, correct it systematically, and progress logically toward advanced work. The Five Fundamentals form the baseline for everything — and the classical framework of the dressage pyramid ensures that each session is structured, efficient, and meaningful.
I teach all of this from the saddle, so you can experience the subtlety and balance firsthand — but every lesson is reinforced through ground work, in-hand exercises, long-reining, lunging, and liberty work, ensuring that every part of your horse’s training is aligned and integrated.
In short: I help riders move from fragments of understanding to a complete system, where every lesson, movement, and correction has purpose and context — from the first steps on the ground to the highest expressions of collection.
If this approach resonates with you and your horse, I’d love to hear from you — you’re warmly invited to visit my contact page to start a conversation.
